I hand-knit each piece in my collection without the use of looms or machines. Each stitch traverses my hands before becoming part of a highly textured accessory or garment. My work is informed by the history of clothing and adornments, inspired by geometric and sculptural forms, and imbued with a passion for color. I strive to conceive and create designs that are original, have reversible stitch patterns, undulating and layered shapes, versatility, and an element of playfulness. The way my pieces feel to the touch and next to the skin is paramount. Thus I select my materials carefully and work almost exclusively with fine natural (including organic) fibers, such as merino wool, cashmere, alpaca, silk, and cotton. One of the most rewarding aspects of my work is seeing my designs come to life on the wearer’s body, enveloping and embracing shoulders, neck, arms, and hands, and draping and cascading around the torso.

My undergraduate and graduate degrees are in the humanities (literature). I have been engaged in other creative pursuits too. My fine art photography has been featured in several solo and group exhibitions.
